Prerequisite: SPCH 2410 or COMM 2025, SPCH 2430 or COMM 2090, JOUR 2200, COMM 3100 or consent of instructor. An introduction to the diverse methods of research employed in the study of communication and how they connect to major theories in communication. This course focuses on quantitative and qualitative methods of research in communication, including content analysis, survey research, discourse analysis, rhetorical analyses, observational research, and interviewing.
