CHEM 3510 - Physical Chemistry I |
Prerequisites: CHEM 1120, MATH 1920, PHYS 2020 or PHYS 2110 (may be taken concurrently). Introduction to modern, molecular approach to physical chemistry. A moderately rigorous introduction to quantum chemistry covering symmetry, bonding, molecular spectroscopy and statistical mechanics to set a stage for the molecular treatment of thermodynamics and kinetics in CHEM 3520. Lectures are reinforced by a systematic set of modern spectroscopy laboratory experiments.
