Prerequisite(s): Admission to graduate study or permission of instructor. Enrollment is restricted to the College of Nursing students. This course is a study of the reaction of the body as a whole to disease throughout the life span. The focus is on alterations in biological processes which affect the body¿s dynamic equilibrium and a conceptual approach that is designed to integrate knowledge from the basic and clinical sciences. Alterations at the cellular and organ level are presented. These alterations include metabolic, infectious, immunologic, degenerative, and neoplastic processes.
